Realistic Torches brings minecraftio.com/triton-resource-pack/   to light resources. It does as the name describes and provides a far more reasonable experience with torches. They start unlit when formerly crafted and can need to be manually lit using flint & steel or with a matchbox.

The difficulty pieces in when the torches burn out. 

The default setting up is for 60 minutes of burn time. That is meant to give the player a motivation to find everlasting light sources, like glowstone. If you leave your dwellings lit only by torches you might be left at night over time.

But this mod gives a solution if you Triton Resource Pack like the aesthetic of torches. You can craft everlasting torches by using glowstone crystals rather than coal. This still makes you to seek out better light but at least you can still use the torch if you want.
